Millennia2015 WeHealth - mHealth Summit
The 2010 mHealth Summit will take place from November 8-10th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.. It will explore ways mobile technology can increase the access, quality and efficiency of healthcare to millions of families in communities in the U.S. and around the globe.
On that occasion, Hilmi Quraishi and Arletty Pinel will participate to the event. They will present Women and Health (WeHealth), the research process at the convergence of Women Empowerment, Healthcare Improvement and Digital Solidarity.

"Information and communication technologies (ICTs) support the health sector in addressing a vast range of challenges to human life and health. The use of these technologies for health - or eHealth - is about health professionals making better treatment decisions, hospitals providing higher quality and safer care, citizens making informed choices about their health, and governments becoming more responsive to health needs. With this respect, women are involved at all levels, as users, mothers, nurses, midwifes, doctors. Their future role in ICTs development has to evolve from simple users to active builders, able to influence the industry and telecom providers to adapt technologies to their needs and local constraints. Millennia2015 offers a unique opportunity to build a worldwide women's community in which the access and use of ICTs is a key component for their health."

"We're extremely pleased that this year's event is attracting such a diverse group of participants from across private and public sectors," says Richard Scarfo, Director of Strategic Alliances and mHealth Summit Director at the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health. "From South Africa to Seattle, leaders in research, technology, business and policy are coming together to discuss the benefits and challenges of mHealth."
"One of the missions of this Summit is to explore ways to make the promise and the economics of mHealth work so sustainable healthcare solutions are created in the developing world to help people who do not currently have access to medical information or treatment,” says David Aylward, Executive Director of the mHealth Alliance. “We are in a position to make a major difference for people in need."
