the Millennia2025 Women and Innovation Foundation, PUF

 

Elimination of sexual violence against farm products saleswomen and improvement of

their families' economic conditions

 

=> through the involvement of suppliers of goods or services

=> through the mobilization of citizens, donors and financial partners

 

Summary: That concrete action aims at reducing risks of sexual violence against farm products saleswomen through the development of a secured transportation service. It also ams at creating a cooperative so that they can have products they absolutely need without being compelled to go to unsecured areas, to spend many days out of their family or to not to be ale to go to town because of the lack of vans.

That action is in line with the macro issue 6: How to combine equitably the added value of women in economic, scientific and political decision-making in order to found an inclusive multicultural society more balanced and responsible for the future?
 

The action is simple but it positively change lives of all person who will take advantage of its benefits. Risks of rapes and accidents will be eradicated and transportation services will be improved in terms of time and of quality. This will make women economic environment more profitable.

It is about reducing risks of sexual violence against farm products saleswomen through the development of a secured transportation service. It is about creating a cooperative so that they can have products they absolutely need without being compelled to go to unsecured areas, to spend many days out of their family or to not to be ale to go to town because of the lack of vans.

It will be supervised by Millennia2015 DRC-Great Lakes region community and by four members of farm products saleswomen cooperative. It will be assessed by the backer.

What are the financial and humans means needed for the action? Thank for explaining why they are needed.

 

Human needs : Members from Millennia2015 and representatives of women groups who will be in charge of the follow-up.

Financial needs: 42340 USD to start the project in Nyabushongo

Why is the action innovation compared with what already exists?

 

This is an innovating action because it will be the first one of that kind in the North-Kivu region.

How long must the action last before assessing its impact?

 

It cannot be fixed because the goal is to make the project durable.

Who will be the direct beneficiaries?

Who will be the indirect beneficiaries? At the end of the action, how many people will be affected during a determined period (3, 6, 9 or 12 months)?

 

Direct beneficiaries: Nyaushongo saleswomen and women farmer with whom they will work. 
Indirect beneficiaries: families and communities who will use the cooperative


 

 

  

 

 

    Assessment

 

 

   QCA-12. Monitoring and assessment

 

What is the system of monitoring and assessment of the action?
What will be the quantitave criteria of assessment?

What will be the qualitative and quantitave criteria of assessment?

 

Millennia2015 head of the community, backer and representative of the cooperative will be in charge of the follow-up of the project. A control will be organized each Tuesday and Friday, day of travel to the villages.

 

 

   QCA-13. Duplication of the project

 

Is the action duplicable in other contexts or other areas? If yes, how?

 

It is replicable because it involves saleswomen of Nyabushongo which is a market. Each market can have such a project.

 

 

 

   QCA-14. Durability of the action

 

How will the action be durable on the long run?

 

The duration of the project will be undetermined. With its income and members contributions, the van can be changed when it will no longer work. A driver and two qualified members will be hired to be in charge of managing the travels and keeping up the van.
