At a primary level, working on topics about gender and gender discrimination with students.

Firstly the teachers and the civil society organizations; then the humanitarian agencies and eventually State stakeholders

- Human needs: 5 members for the management of the project
- Financial needs: 20.000,00 USD per year (2 years)

 

 

 

   QCA-9. Innovation of the action

 

Why is the action innovation compared with what already exists?

 

Currently in Haiti, education is more and more a crucial issue. Investment becomes more important. They are dedicated to the reinforcement of educational provision and to the greater access of a higher number of children with a particular focus on the quality of that education. The aim of that project is to contribute to the institutionalization of gender in primary school in Haiti.

How long must the action last before assessing its impact?

 

2-year pilot project.

 


 

   QCA-11. Target audience

 

Who will be the direct beneficiaries?
Who will be the indirect beneficiaries?
At the end of the action, how many people will be affected during a determined period (3, 6, 9 or 12 months)?

 

- Direct beneficiaries will be the 30 schools that will be involved in the project.
- Indirect beneficiairies would be at least the 10.000 students enrolled in school.


 

 

  

 

 

    Assessment

 

 

   QCA-12. Monitoring and assessment

 

What is the system of monitoring and assessment of the action?
Who will be ensure the process and the assessment?
What will be the quantitative criteria of monitoring?
What will be the qualitative criteria of assessment?

 

- In the framework of the project, we will implement a system of monitoring and assessment (M&A) based on gender principles of impact evaluation.

 

- Millennia2015 community will be directly in charge of that activity with the support of a network of focal points for M&A in each school.

 

- Main quantitative criteria will be: having at least 300 students that are regularly enrolled, having 5 years of existence and being recognized by the Ministry.

 

- Qualitative criteria will be: contribution to the elaboration of the project activity report; participation to Millennia2015 newsletter writing; participation to Millennia2015 national meetings.

 

 

 

   QCA-13. Duplication of the project

 

Is the action duplicable in other contexts or other areas? If yes, how?

 

At first, that original action has a national dimension. Once implemented and strengthened the network of gendered school will be a powerful tool of development of the Haitian educational system. The Ministry of State Education and Professional Training could take over the project and make it more institutional.

 

 

 

   QCA-14. Durability of the action

 

How will the action be durable on the long run?

 

Results of the project will have to be linked with national actions regarding fundamental women's and men's rights respect. It is only with the respect of that condition that the project will have a durable impact.
