Portrait of a Midwife

Project name and responsible
Miriam Ackroyd,
Wellington Point, Australia
Project description
Influence people to see the importance/necessity of providing skilled midwives.
A photograph reaches beyond reason to directly strike our emotions. Photos tell us about time and space and how things have evolved or remained the same. Photography opens the door wider to what is happening in the world around us and forces us to open our eyes and look beyond ourselves. Images can inform, teach, inspire, agitate and shake us to the core. I want to use photography as an instrument for education and change; encourage the world to act. I believe that powerful photography can affect the masses, regardless of where they are from.
