V03 - Women in situations of conflict and of war



The variable analysis ("fiches variables") you present here will help us to identify the long term issues, the problems and the possible solutions linked to the 37 variables in relation with your country, region or community. They will be analysed in order to build the Millennia2015 Action Plan that will be finalized during the international conference organized at the UNESCO in December 2011.


We appreciate your contribution. We suggest you to collect different testimonies to present the situation as precisely as possible. It will also be interesting to study the chosen variables in interaction with others that complete them, in order to identify crossed impacts which emerge from the analysis.

5. Answer to the questions: the red star means that the answer is compulsory: it is important to answer every question. You can complete the questionnaire in several times if it helps you. If you leave some questions unanswered, simply write "---" in the special box or tell us when you will provide the answer and do not forget to do it in time.

CAUTION: It is prudent to prepare your answers in a document (.doc or .txt) and to copy/paste the answers into the form afterwards in order not to lose your responses in case of irregular connection.

All the contributions will be taken into account, valorized and published by Millennia2015. The contributors who will provide a detailed research work for several variables will be contacted to participate to the international conference organized under the auspices of the UNESCO in Paris in December 2011 for the "knowledge process" (KP2011) phase of Millennia2015.

Question 2 - Retrospective assessment

How has this variable influenced - or not - women's empowerment during the last 10 (or 20) years?







Question 3 - Actual or emerging trends

What is the impact of this variable on women's daily life in your country, region or community, as well as on their participation to ongoing development and progress?







Question 4 - Uncertainty and discontinuities

To what extent can the elements of this variable stop the process of women's empowerment and their active contribution to desirable futures?







Question 5 - Possible assumptions of evolution

How will this variable modify the status of women's empowerment as well as their role in society in 2025? 

As an example, formulate some (3, 4 ou 5) alternative hypothesis of evolution at the horizon 2025.







Question 6 - Issues

What are the issues of this variable for women? What have they to lose or gain?







Question 7 - Concrete examples

Provide concrete examples showing the interest of taking this variable into account in the assumptions or alternatives of the future.
